TEACHER: Mrs. Lannert!
Sixth grade is a year of growth and maturity at St. Philip. It is not the first year the students are departmentalized but it is the first year that the students really feel total independence and responsibility for their classwork and grades. Just like in 5th grade, the students take seven classes a day and go from class to class for each subject. Their classes include Math, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies and Religion daily, and special classes such as Art, Music, Physical Education, Technology, and Health on different days throughout the week. Some of the highlights of sixth grade include getting to go on the west side feeder ski trip in January, participating in Catholic Schools' Week activities, raising money for different charities in creative ways throughout the year, and the 5th gr. vs. 6th gr. volleyball game that takes place during the last week of school.
