Kindergartners have an exciting year building the foundation for their future education. Kindergartners develop their Catholic Faith and have an understanding of their relationship to God and other people. They pray every day and attend Mass weekly. They learn to read by learning their letters/sounds. When learning to read they also learn to spell words and begin writing sentences. By the end of kindergarten they are putting those sentences together to write simple stories! Kindergartners work with manipulatives and use hands-on activities to develop an understanding of numbers and their uses. Kindergartens learn to make predictions, use critical thinking and draw conclusions while having fun in Science. Kindergartners use a lot of fun activities, centers, IXL, Razz Kids and other apps to reinforce what we are learning in the classroom. Physical activity is important in kindergarten as well. We take "brain breaks" daily and exercise to Go Noodle to keep our minds and bodies strong. They look forward to attending special classes each day as well. Their specials are Gym, Art, Music, Library and Technology.
