Welcome to St. Philip! We are very proud of our program and we are happy that you are considering our preschool. In the fall of 2022, the preschool/pre-k will begin its 30th year. Each day, we strive to help our students have a positive experience in school and foster a love of learning.
Preschool: Children who attend preschool will learn and grow in a loving, nurturing environment. They will adjust to a new atmosphere and learn that it is okay to separate from parents. Students will socialize and play with others. They will learn to follow directions and develop a daily routine. Our schedule will consist of circle time activities, art, story time, songs/finger plays, snack, and more. We cover other skills such as colors, shapes, calendar, weather, alphabet, number recognition, and rote counting. Children will also learn about Jesus’ love for us and how to follow His example.
Pre-K: In pre-k, the children expand on what is learned in preschool. Students participate in activities designed to improve gross motor, fine motor, and cognitive abilities. Early reading and writing skills are practiced each day. The children use an interactive calendar that allows them to explore many mathematic concepts. Students also enjoy creating artwork and participating in science projects. We practice our Catholic faith and pray together daily.
One of the many highlights of the preschool/pre-k program is our interactive in-class “field trips” or special visitors. Some examples include firefighters, Mesker Park Zoo representatives, and a nutritionist. We are also lucky enough to have the Evansville Association for the Blind schedule a screening for amblyopia (lazy eye).
At St. Philip Catholic School, three (Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday) and five (Monday-Friday) day morning classes are offered as well as extended care each day.
Admission Information:
Child MUST be 3 years old on or before AUGUST 1st and potty-trained for preschool.
Child MUST be 4 years old on or before AUGUST 1st and potty-trained for pre-k.
Children may not wear diapers or pull-ups during classes or enrichment time.
Participant Priority:

We will also follow our current Preschool Enrollment Process as outlined in the student handbook (which can be found on our website www.stphilipschool.net)
Enrollment is not considered complete until the enrollment form plus the $200.00 registration fee are turned into the school office.
