About Our Teacher
My name is Jill Hemminger and I came to St. Philip School in 1995, after having moved to Evansville in 1990. Before moving here, I lived in Athens, Ohio where I taught 5th-8th band in a poor Appalachian school district. After living a year in Madagascar, my husband got a job at the University of Evansville, which landed us here since then. We have two daughters, one in college and the other a Senior in high school, and a big black dog named Pepper. Besides teaching at St. Philip, I also sing in the Evansville Philharmonic Chorus and teach private flute lessons at Central High School and at home.
